As most people that keep up to date with the industry know the playstation vita isn’t doing as well as its competitors and this seemingly means they will have to take all 3rd party support as they can get. As a proud PSvita owner it is difficult to ignore the amount of fanservice games that flood the psn store. “Fan service refers to scenes designed to excite or titillate the viewer. This can include scantily-clad outfits, cleavage shots, panty shots, nude scenes (shower scenes especially), etc.” according to the wise words over at the urban dictionary.
The playstation vita has a library of a wide range of video games that are seemingly aimed to sell purely with the promise of a few fake animated breasts and most, if not all of the games put in this category are created by Japanese developers which Is understandable as the west hasn’t given the ps vita much support. I have provided a short list of some games that have sexualized their female characters in the hopes of selling more copies on the psvita:
- Dungeon travellers 2 -the royal library and the monster seal- The game features an almost all female cast with both sexualized protagonists and antagonists. It was required to be censored when brought over to the west to avoid an adults only rating
- Senran Kagura games - The games have extremely unrealistic breast physics and focus almost purely on revealing as much of the game’s characters as possible through the use of clothes tearing
- Bullet girls -A seemingly incomplete shooting game that focuses mainly on the sexualisation of woman, It features a viewing mode that features the characters eating phallic objects
- Monster monpiece
Earn cards of sexualized female characters to battle your enemies and rub those characters to upgrade them
There are fair few more, but I think it is a bit pointless to talk about them. In the end sex sells and these games are helping the vita survive and bring more amazing games to the system so there is a benefit to bringing all these sexualized games to the system
